CARTHAGE — The Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its July fireworks celebration at Turning Point Park on July 13.
The festival will have activities for children and adults, said Chamber Director Jeanette A. Turner. “We have a little something for every age,” she said.
A children’s area opens at 4 p.m., The Patti Stanford Band will play from 6 to 9 p.m. Throughout the day there will be food and free activities, ending with a fireworks show “that is second to none,” Mrs. Turner said.
Mrs. Turner also said the chamber is seeking sponsors for the event. Donors will be listed on the online flyer.
Platinum Sponsors of $500 or more have a limited time left to donate and get a logo printed on the festival banner to display at the event.
Those interested should contact the chamber office at 315-493-3590 as soon as possible.
The chamber director said there are still a few openings for vendors. However, an application for a peddler’s permit must be submitted by Wednesday through the village of Carthage office in order to have the approved and issued in time for the event.
Prior to the fireworks festival, the Carthage YMCA will hold a color run at Carthage Park, 2 Park Drive.
The Color Me Red, White and Blue 5K and one mile Kid’s Fun Run are sponsored by Fuller Insurance Agency and Carthage Area Hospital.
