PHILADELPHIA — The Indian River Central School District Drama Club will present “As You Like It,” a comedy by William Shakespeare, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

“As You Like It” is one of Shakespeare’s most popular and lively romantic comedies. It will be presented at the Indian River Theatre of the Performing Arts, at the IRCS High School at 32925 state Route 11.

In the play, Rosalind, disguised as a boy, escapes the court with her faithful cousin, Celia, and clown, Touchstone, to revel in nature and the seemingly simple life in the idyllic Forest of Arden, where love notes grow on trees and the music bewitches the air.

Lost amidst the trees, they discover love and the freedom to be who they want to be. However, Rosalind soon finds her heart in peril as she instructs the man she loves on how to best woo a woman.

They discover love is never simple, idealism is sometimes naïve and the forest will not protect them from the outside world forever.

The production is directed by Kristie Fuller with the assistance of Elaine Finley.

The cast: Dominique Torrez as Rosalind, Hannah Bajakian as Celia, Justin Nadal as Orlando, Keaton Landerman as Oliver, Chris Curbelo as Silvius, Jeromy Hennings as Charles, Maria Miller as Phoebe, Daisy Hecker as Touchstone, Emily Goodrich as Duchess Senior, Johlea Johnson as Duchess Federica, Briley Cullum as Agnes, Kyerra Stanley as Jacquette, Elizabeth Welborn as Laure, Jaylin Sands as Hélène, McEwen Thornton as Corinne and Sophia Russell as Jacqueline.
