BEAVER FALLS — The academic leaders for the class of 2019 at Beaver River Central School are Trent Meyer, valedictorian; Amanda Zehr, salutatorian; and Candice Cardinal, outstanding vocational class leader.
Mr. Meyer, son of David and Sandy Meyer, has an academic average of 96.98 and will graduate with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with honors and mastery in math and science.
He is secretary of National Honor Society and Spanish club and class secretary. He is captain of the swim team, earned Frontier League Honorable Mention All-Star for soccer and is a member of the track team. Mr. Meyer is also a member of concert band, jazz ensemble and marching band.
He will attend St. Lawrence University, Canton.
Miss Zehr, daughter of Greg and Samantha Zehr, has an academic average of 96.33 and will graduate with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with honors and mastery in science.
She is a part of the school arts program, Choraleers, concert band, jazz ensemble and marching band. She has participated in the New York State School Music Association solo festival for four years and was a cast member for the past three high school musicals.
Miss Zehr will attend Jefferson Community College, Watertown.
Miss Cardinal, daughter of Ronald and Carrie Cardinal, has a two year average of 95.88 in the Medical Careers/New Vision Health program of Howard G. Sackett Technical Center, Glenfield, where she was named a student of the quarter in Medical Careers.
She is a member of National Honor Society, FFA and the tennis team and has been a member of the track team.
She will attend JCC.
