MORRISTOWN — The academic leaders for the class of 2019 at Morristown Central School are Lauren Woodcock, valedictorian, and Rhianna Chapin, salutatorian.
Miss Woodcock, daughter of Christopher and Jessica Woodcock, has an academic average of 94.01 and will graduate with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation and 11.5 college credits. She is a member of Spanish club, yearbook committee and athletic council. She has played soccer, basketball and softball and serves as president of the National Honor Society.
Among awards she received are the University of Rochester Bausch & Lomb Science Award, Elmira Key Award and SUNY Plattsburgh North Country Scholarship.
Miss Woodcock will attend Elmira College to study speech language disabilities.
Miss Chapin, daughter of April LeDuc and Greg Chapin, has an academic average of 93.4 and will graduate with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation and 12 college credits.
She is a member of National Honor Society, yearbook club, marching band and All-County Festivals. Among awards she received are the University of Rochester Frederic Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award, St. Lawrence University Augsbury North Country Scholarship and the SUNY Plattsburgh North Country Scholarship.
Miss Chapin will attend SUNY Plattsburg, to pursue a degree in psychology.
