SCRIBA - The Scriba Historical Society will host a presentation on genealogical research, presented by Tammy Kocienski at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 8.

Kocienski has studied genealogy for 25 years and also has a Facebook group called Oswego County Genealogy & History that she started up to go in combination with her web page at NYGenweb called Oswego County Genealogy.

She grew up in the suburbs of Syracuse, but her ancestors (Arden, McCarthy, Hoefer, France, Holleran among others) are from Scriba/Oswego so she has done extensive research in the area. She will explain how to find who a persons ancestors were, and then just how to go about getting to know them, how to find clues on websites, etc. that will help in genealogical research.

Refreshments will be served.

This will be held at the Scriba Municipal Building, 41 Creamery Rd., Oswego.
