JCED hosting conference on cross-border commerce

WATERTOWN — Jefferson County Economic Development will host a conference about cross-border commerce from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 14 at the Hilton Garden Inn.

The conference, titled A Shared Opportunity: Working Together to Advance Cross-Border Commerce, will feature Canadian and U.S. speakers discussing the legal aspects of business formation, registration requirements, work visa and permit categories and border crossing tips. Pierre Cléroux, vice president of research and chief economist for the Business Development Bank of Canada, will provide the keynote address.

“We’re looking to provide opportunities for networking, education, and brainstorming”, said F. Marshall Weir, JCED marketing director, in a statement.
