Phoenix Food Sense sign ups

PHOENIX - Phoenix Food Sense can help people save 40% on quality food. The program is located at the First United Congregational Church of Christ, 43 Bridge St., Phoenix. Sing up is from 9-11 a.m. on March 11 and pick up is from 9 -11 a.m. on March 25 (Times and dates subject to change).

Food Sense accepts EBT Cards, just make sure efficient funds are on the card.

Bring own bags or boxes.

For $20.50 people will get a unit consisting of:

Chicken drumsticks, 3.5 lbs.

Ham steaks, 1 lb.

Tilapia fillets, 1 lb.

Ground turkey, 1 lb.

Salisbury steaks, 12 oz.

Pizza (barbecue), 14 oz.

French fries, 20 oz.

Macaroni and cheese, 7.25 oz.

Frozen tropical fruit, 1lb.

Dices carrots, 1 lb.

2 fresh produce

Specials at extra cost:

1) Pork lion: 7-9 lbs. (average) - $13.50

2) Chicken tenders: 5 lbs. - $6.50

3) Shrimp: 2 lbs. - $9

4) Meatballs: 5 lbs. - $13

5) Pantry box: Pancake mix (32 oz.), toasted oat cereal (12 oz.), crushed tomatoes (28 oz.), instant potatoes (13.3 oz.), brown rice (1 lb.), macaroni and beef (15 oz.), tuna fish (5 oz.), peanut butter (18 oz.), grape spread (19 oz.) and Mandarin oranges (11 oz.). - $11.25

6) Onion rings: 2.5 lbs. -$6

7) Stuffed shells: 3 lbs. -$5.50
