NORWOOD — Despite the lowering of the water level at the northern portion of the Raquette River, known as Norwood Lake, the Grateful Oars Rowing Club will be keeping “the Dunkirk Spirit” alive with its annual learn-to-row day.

Members of the public are invited to a free introduction to crew rowing between 9 and 11 a.m. Saturday at Norwood Beach, 28 Maple St., followed by socializing with club members.

Tour the boathouse, meet club members, learn about rowing in a crew boat at dockside, watch a crew demonstrate rowing and experience a few minutes in a crew boat.
