Gouverneur man jailed after domestic incident

GOUVERNEUR — A Gouverneur man was jailed Thursday in connection with an alleged domestic incident, Gouverneur village police said.

Travis N. Cole, 25, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal mischief and aggravated family offense, village police said.

During a domestic incident, Mr. Cole allegedly grabbed the victim’s steering wheel while she was driving to the Gouverneur police station and forced the vehicle into a parking lot, where he punched the center console and broke glass, causing more than $250 in damage, police said.

Police said Mr. Cole has had previous family offense convictions within the past five years. He was arraigned Thursday in Gouverneur Town Court and transported to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.
