ADAMS — The annual Cheddar Cheese Festival will take place in the village from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 13.

Opening ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. on the village green, near the veteran’s memorial. Representatives from Great Lakes Cheese and local dignitaries will speak at the ceremony, along with Adams Revitalization Committee president, Liz Walker.

Behind the Adams Fire Department and Adams Free Library, at the village green and pavilion, there will be vendors. Live music will be provided by Southbound and Quill and Plow. There will be a wine garden featuring seven wineries. Great Lakes Cheese will offer samples. Food, including a chicken barbecue, burgers and hot dogs, will be available from the Adams Fire Department Auxiliary and South Jefferson Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Downbeat Percussion Band, sponsored by Northern Credit Union, will perform at noon.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., children are invited to the Fucillo Kids Zone, located at the Six Town Meeting Hall, 37 E. Church St. The kids zone features ice cream, summer reading books, balloons, pony rides, jumpy houses, free of charge. Rick West’s Birds of Prey will be on-hand along with a goat petting zoo.

Community Bank will be selling hot dogs and drinks, in front of the bank, to benefit the South Jeff Back Pack program.

The South Jefferson Rescue Squad Inc. will sponsor its annual 5K run, in memory of Kirk Steele, at 8 a.m. at the rescue squad, as well as the annual Cheezy Duck Race. Rocking for the Rohde, to benefit the Rohde Center Food Pantry, will occur at the food pantry building, East Church and Main streets.
