Woman charged with DWI following one-car crash


BARNES CORNERS — A man in a physical fight with a family member and allegedly brandished knives at deputies after they arrives at the scene was charged with multiple felonies.

Allen T. Bray, 51, of County Route 194, Copenhagen, was charged with first-degree burglary, menacing a police officer, two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree criminal mischief, all felonies.

Four misdemeanor charges were also levied against Bray.

According to the Sheriff’s Office news release, deputies arrived at Mr. Bray’s home after receiving a call about a “physical altercation” between he and a family member at about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

When he saw the deputies, Mr. Bray allegedly went into his home , came out with two large kitchen knives and “approached” the deputies and family members with the knives.

The report said Mr. Bray did not drop the knives when ordered to do so by the deputies and was “subdued” with a Taser.

Mr. Bray was arraigned in the Town of New Bremen and taken to Lewis County Jail with bail set at $2,500 cash. He will appear in county court at a later date.

The State Police and Lewis County Search and Rescue assisted deputies at the scene.
