Cindy Jean (Didas) Lewis, 55, passed away July 1st 2019, at the Catawba Valley Medical Center; Hickory, NC; after suffering a severe stroke due to on going medical issues.

Cindy was born February 14, 1964 in Gouverneur, NY daughter of Carl Roman Didas and Gloria Jean (Mackin) Didas of Milford, KS. She attended Harrisville Central School, graduating class of ‘82 also receiving her cosmetology degree from Southwest Tech BOCES. She went on to get her CDL from NTTS truck driving school in Syracuse, NY. Cindy was a barber on Fort Drum for many years after graduation and bartended at her parents establishment, Greenwood Falls Tavern. She drove tractor trailer and dump truck for many years as well. Cindy was a published author later in life, with 5 books published in total. She loved all forms of art, was very crafty and musically inclined; able to play many instruments, flute being her favorite. She was a life long NY Giants fan. Cindy and her husband Jeff moved to Hickory, NC in 2011, which was always one of her dreams.

Cindy is lovingly remembered by her husband of 14 years Jeffry Alan Lewis, originally of Croghan, NY. They were married on September 5th, 2004, officiated by Reverend Putney at the East Pitcairn Wesleyan Church. Her daughter Susan Jean Didas, her partner Michael Adam Lowe and grandson Roman Edward Cole of Watertown, NY. Her son Clay Arthur Miller and his partner Stephanie Ann Brunet of Dekalb JCT, NY. Brothers Randy Carl Didas and James Roman Didas of Milford, KS. 1 niece, 4 nephews, many great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Cindy was an avid bowler and pool player in her younger years. She was very well known for her crocheted, handmade gifts, thoughtful care packages and always taking pictures. She had a contagious smile, a never faltering passion for life and always there to listen and lend a hand.

A celebration of life will be held at the Harrisville Fire Hall Sumer 2020, date to be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Cindy’s honor may be sent to Catawba Valley Medical Center; 810 Fairgrove Church Rd SE; Hickory, NC 28602.

The family would also like to thank all those who have donated to her go fund me page to help with final arrangements. The out pour of love and support received was more than could have been imagined.
