CANTON — Work continued this week on the water basin of the Canton Village Green fountain.

The iron fountain was removed from its station in the center of the park in August of last year when work began on its restoration after four years of fundraising and contractor searches.

Escalating leaking issues in fall 2016 prompted a three-phase plan for the fountain’s structural restoration, park tree replacement and installation of new stone pavers.

The park is owned by the First Presbyterian Church on the south side of the village green and maintained by the village.
