CANTON — Two candidates were nominated Thursday night during a caucus of the Canton Republican Committee.

Incumbent Village Mayor Michael Dalton, a registered Republican, was nominated for the open mayor’s seat and David Curry was nominated for a trustee seat on the village board. Mr. Curry has previously served as village mayor and as a trustee. Mr. Dalton was also nominated by Canton Democrats.

Two village trustee seats are available and they now carry four-year terms. Trustee Carol Pynchon, a Democat, is seeking re-election. Political newcomer, Anna Sorensen, a Democrat, is also seeking a trustee seat.
