WATERTOWN — A former Watertown City School District bus driver pleaded guilty Thursday to raping a teenager he met through his job.

Shane M. Piche, 26, pleaded guilty in Jefferson County Court to third-degree rape. He admitted that on June 10 he had sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl in the town of Watertown.

According to state police, he met the youth through his job as a bus driver. He had also been charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and endangering the welfare of a child after allegedly providing the youth with alcohol. All of the alleged incidents occurred at Piche’s residence at 25515 Ridge Road, town of Watertown.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 25 to up to ten years’ probation.
