I attended the post-primary news conference that Republican Party member Susan Duffy held in Ogdensburg when she announced her intention to stay in the 116th Assembly race on the Conservative line.

After she spoke, Susan made the transcript of her speech available to reporters and anyone who wanted one. What a great idea for those who wished to refer back to or missed something she said.

Duffy voted against a small 1M dollar fund to help schools learn the best way to increase STEM education. I couldn't figure out why because that's the kind of thing that makes American students competitive against the Chinese threat that Republicans fear. It's also good for Republicans since it could divert people away from sociology and race studies and whatever else Republicans deem unworthy of study.

I called her office and someone told me that she voted against it because the money wasn't also available to religious schools. Seems like she is the anti-wall of separation between church and state type of candidate. Still, surprised she'd fuss about 1M, which is pocket change compared to how much money there is for education programs.

Education is more important. Duffy doesn't understand that.

She won't get my vote.

didn't republican voters already make a choice between them in the primary?
