New gun laws will not affect mass shootings

I want to applaud U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik’s new Second Amendment Guarantee Act.

Elise has always been a proud supporter of the Second Amendment, and I know she will continue to be a champion of our right to bear arms.

I encourage all my fellow 2A supporters to look into Elise’s effort!

Not only would the Second Amendment Guarantee Act void New York’s SAFE Act, it would also prevent future states from attempting to restrict responsible gun ownership.

Elise has proven again and again that she will stand for the north country’s rights and the U.S. Constitution!

This new Congress is pushing extremely dangerous pieces of legislation that will no doubt restrict the core values in our Bill of Rights.

I am proud that our congresswoman is standing for our rights and our values!

Why not something that is constitutional??? https://extrememiddleparty.com/gun-rights/

Supporting the second amendment to the U.S. constitution is a republicans duty. I personally would like to see a bipartisan review of this amendment to determine if a addendum is in order. Not a change in wording of the actual 2nd amendment but a recognition that America is not the same nation founded in 1775. A wording that makes it aware we are not the stable people our fathers were and therefore the right to keep and bear arms must be re-examined and modified.

Look at the difference between the two parties. Biden and Democrats are dealing with legislation and policies to help the country get past the epidemic and the economic damage that resulted from it. They’ve started working towards an overdue infrastructure bill that was a running joke during the Trump presidency. I have no doubt that Stefanik will vote against it and then take credit for any benefits the North Country receives.

What are Republicans doing? Stupid cultural wars about Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head. Oh, and playing to the people like the letter writer for whom, I guess, nothing matters more than being able to possess any gun he wants.

The legislation is pointless and is going nowhere in Congress and would be overruled in the courts even if it did which it’s not going to. It’s just political. Just like when she signed onto the Texas lawsuit and the January 6th vote. It’s all about the performance. It’s a shame we didn’t elect a congresswoman who was actually interested in legislation that would benefit the people of northern NY instead of one more interested in appearing on rightwing media and being a star.

The legislation is blatantly unconstitutional. When did the Republican Party stop caring about the Constitution? Oh right, when they became a subsidiary of TrumpCo.

Without even doing any searching on this legislation I know it’s not going to pass. This is just Stefanik playing politics with an issue as she does incessantly. It’s not going to happen but it gets people like the letter writer, who is apparently a gun fetishist, excited.

The Safe Act has been around for years. Has anyone shown up to take your guns yet?
