Please pass on a sincere thank you to a Good Samaritan who recently helped us out.
We are from Canada. My wife, Sue, and I were enjoying a pleasant drive along Route 12 just north of Alexandria Bay when our car suddenly ran out of gas. (A faulty fuel gauge was reading 1/4 tank at the time.)
This happened on a particularly deserted part of the highway without a house in sight. What a helpless feeling!
A very kind gentleman named Dan stopped for us, drove home and five minutes later returned with a couple of gallons of gas. He refused payment of any sort.
The car started, and we made it to a gas station. This leaves us with very fond memories of our short holiday in upstate New York.
