SYRACUSE — Syracuse University revealed new football uniforms Friday night, marking a continued partnership with Nike announced earlier this week and a break from the look the Orange has sported for the past five seasons.
Syracuse revealed new jerseys, pants and helmets for the 2019 season at the Lava Nightclub at Turning Stone Casino in Verona.
The uniforms feature a more traditional look than those worn since 2014, including high-gloss helmets rather than the matte finish worn recently.
The Orange will feature three colors of jerseys and pants, orange, blue and white, which adds up to nine possible uniform combination and 18 when adding Syracuse’s orange and white helmets. Syracuse will not wear blue helmets in 2019, Syracuse said. The helmets will feature Syracuse’s block-S logo.
Syracuse’s orange helmet will display the blue-white-blue center stripe that was utilized by Orange teams of the 1980s and 1990s. The new white helmet will utilize a blue-orange-blue center stripe.
Syracuse’s jerseys will add bold sleeve stripes that evoke uniforms worn by Orange stars of the 1950s and 1960s. Pant stripes will return as well.
