College men’s basketball

SYRACUSE — The Syracuse University men’s basketball team has added a nonconference game with Oakland (Mich.) University set for Dec. 18 at the Carrier Dome.

The Orange leads the all-time series 3-0 over the Golden Grizzlies, with SU winning the last meeting, 74-50, on Nov. 20, 2017.

The game features two of the longest-tenured coaches in the Division I ranks as Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim is preparing for his 44th season at his alma mater. Oakland coach Greg Kampe has embarked on his 36th season with the Golden Grizzlies.

Syracuse was 20-14 overall last season and earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.
