Three named as Academic All-Americans

HIGH SCHOOL LACROSSE

General Brown’s Carson Pickeral, Carthage’s Luke Piroli and Watertown’s Ryder Simser have each been selected by US Lacrosse as Academic All-Americans.

Pickeral, a senior goalie, made 145 saves this past season for the Lions and recorded a .589 save percentage. Pickeral, who will attend Nazareth College, finished with career-program highs in saves (572) and save percentage (.595).

Piroli, a senior attack, scored 27 goals and assisted on 28 others for 55 points this season for the Comets. Piroli, who complied 280 career points at Carthage, is headed to Salisbury University.

Simser, a senior midfielder, totaled 34 goals and 24 points for 58 points this season for the Cyclones. He will attend Le Moyne College to play lacrosse.

Carthage and Watertown shared this year’s Frontier League title in boys lacrosse.
