DEXTER — Tyler Smith went 3-for-4 and drove in four runs to power the Thousand Islands baseball team past General Brown, 11-1, on Saturday to clinch a share of the Frontier League’s “C” Division title.

Quinn Gaffney doubled twice and drove in a pair of runs for the Vikings (11-4, 10-4) against the Lions (1-8, 0-8).

Thousand Islands will share the division title with Beaver River.

Pitchers Mikey Flyzik, Derrick Goutremout and Tyler Wilson combined on a one-hitter, with each striking out five, as the Indians blanked the Patriots in a FL “D” Division game in LaFargeville.

Zach Goutremout singled three times and drove in three runs for Lyme (10-1-1, 8-1), which had already secured the division’s regular-season title, and Wilson singled twice and knocked in a pair of runs in the game.

The Falcons used a 10-run third inning to bounce back in a crossover game at Copenhagen (7-5).

Drew Crofoot, Gene Bailey, Brady Vosburgh and Dylan Mashaw each posted three hits for South Lewis.

Kaleb Brown struck out 10 and tossed a no-hitter as the Comets blanked the Purple Ghosts (3-8, 3-7) in a crossover game at Sandy Creek.

Maddox Brown supplied a double and three RBIs for Sandy Creek (6-6).

Nolan Anderson ripped a two-run single as the Sandstoners blanked the Golden Bears in an Northern Athletic Conference Central Division game at Potsdam.

Keller McGowan threw a two-hit shutout and struck out 10 for Potsdam (6-7, 5-6). Jack Finnerty struck out nine for Canton (2-10).

Brennan Harmer singled, tripled and drove in four runs as the Yellowjackets beat the Larries (8-5) in an NAC East game at Brasher Falls.

Logan Cordova tallied a single, a double and an RBI for Madrid-Waddington (8-4).

Connor Paige hurled a complete game three-hitter and posted three hits as the Flyers (10-2, 9-1) routed the Lumberjacks (0-9) in an NAC East game at Norwood.

Caden Lucas stroked a two-run, bases-loaded single in the 14th inning as the Spartans outlasted the Falcons for a FL crossover win in Turin.

Logan Hess struck out 10 in over seven innings of relief for South Jefferson (10-3, 10-1).

BOYS TENNIS

Indian River’s Erron Breedlove won a pair of matches to reach the Section 3 Class B third singles tournament at Utica Parkway Courts.

Breedlove rallied to beat Phoenix’s Josh VanGorder, 3-6, 6-2,6-4, and once again came back to defeat Oneida’s Jordan Farwell, 6-7, 6-3,6-4.

Lowville’s first doubles team of Joel Cavanaugh and Hugo Zabielowicz won their first-round match over Clinton’s Nick Gale and Dave Henderson, 7-5, 6-7, 6-4, in the Class C tournament before falling in the semifinals.

Lowville’s Jared Ortlieb advanced after Cazenovia’s Mitch Romig defaulted.

SOFTBALL

Shaylagh Randall tossed a complete-game three-hitter in her first career varsity start as the Falcons beat the Purple Ghosts (0-10) in a FL crossover game at Alexandria Bay.

Kiaya Flynn provided two hits and an RBI for South Lewis (9-7, 8-6).

Sarah Balcom went 2-for-2 with four RBIs as the Comets got a crossover victory with the Purple Ghosts in Alexandria Bay.

Hailey McGrew belted a solo home run and Rosie Walter added three hits for Sandy Creek (10-5, 8-5).

Kaitlyn Weston hurled a four-hit shutout and struck out five as the Indians blanked the Patriots (3-11, 3-9) in a “D” Division game at Sackets Harbor.

Gabby Madeline, Callie LaFontaine and Karyssa Parker each totaled three hits for Lyme (8-4).

Kelsy Waite clubbed a three-run home run as the Larries topped the Red Raiders in an NAC Central game at Brasher Falls.

Maggi Yandoh smashed a two-run double for St. Lawrence (13-1, 12-0).

Torrie Moore belted a triple, a double and a single, Hannah Woodward doubled and singled twice, and Harlie Moore lined three singles as Harrisville (7-5) won an NAC West game at Morristown (5-5).

Tessa Garvey doubled and Rylie Hale stroked a single as the Demons (6-5) took advantage of walks in winning an NAC West game at Clifton-Fine (0-14).

Natalie McCormick lined three singles, Celia Henry doubled and singled, and Rileigh Planty drove in three runs with two singles as OFA (8-2) won a Central Division game at Canton (6-5).

Winning pitcher Paige Cox lined four singles, and Kennedy Herbert and Emma St. Mary each singled three times as Brushton-Moira (9-3) won an NAC East game at Madrid-Waddington (4-6).

Emma Ladouceur and Alison Trathen combined to pitch a four-hitter as Heuvelton defeated Construction of New York City at the Mudville Softball Complex in Herkimer.

Kelsey Williams scatter four hits as Heuvelton (14-0) downed Copenhagen in a nonleague game played at the Mudville Complex in Herkimer. Molly Williams doubled for Heuvelton and Madison Allen doubled for Copenhagen.
