SANDY CREEK — Connor MacKay and Wyatt Parliament combined for a no-hitter as the Thousand Islands baseball team won its Frontier League “C” Division season-opener, 8-1, over Sandy Creek on Saturday in its first game since 2017.

Parliament also singled and double for the Vikings (1-0), who broke the game open with a seven-run seventh inning.

The Comets are 0-1.


Delaney Wiley struck out 11 and drove in Natalie Wetterhan with a walk-off single as the Vikings opened “C” Division play with a win over the Falcons in Clayton.

Mary Connerton supplied an RBI-double for Thousand Islands (1-0).

Kindrie Roy and Brooke Platt each registered a pair of hits for South Lewis (0-1).

Sarah Evan went 4-for-4 with home run and four RBIs as the Beavers beat the Golden Knights in a season-opening crossover game at Beaver Falls.

Kirsten Joslin struck out 10 in six innings for Beaver River (1-0).

Riley Dalrymple collected a hit for Copenhagen (0-1).

Alayna Bush totaled seven hits across two games as South Jefferson beat Westhill, 17-2, and Pulaski, 15-1, in a pair of nonleague games at Carrier Park in East Syracuse.

Bush registered five RBIs in the first game as did Sara Busler for the Spartans (2-0).

Jillian Hare won both ends of the doubleheader and totaled four hits in game 2 for South Jefferson.


Ayden LaFave collected four goals and three assists as the Warriors earned a nonleague victory over the Sandstoners in Philadelphia.

Anthony Barker and Rowan Marsell each added two goals and two assists for Indian River (4-0).

Keenan Hasset scored twice for Potsdam (1-3).

Liverpool edged Watertown by outscoring the Cyclones 2-1 in the final quarter of the nonleague game in Liverpool.

Ryan McGowan scored five goals for the Warriors (3-0). Ethan Wise led the Cyclones (1-3) with three.

Skaneatles overcame Corey O’Connor’s three goals and two assists to hand the Lions their first loss of the season in a nonleague game in Skaneateles.

Carter Rosbrook also contributed three goals for General Brown (5-1).

Grayson Brunelle led the Lakers (3-1) with five goals.

Salmon River (1-1) scored 14 goals in the first half to defeat the Red Raiders in a Northern Athletic Conference game in Massena.

Keldren King led the Shamrocks (1-1) with eight goals. Treylan Mitchell added a goal and four assists and Cobie Cree, Tahnaokata Elijah and Kyren Lazore each scored two.

Benjamin Rogers scored twice for Massena (1-1).


Sarah Kilburn finished with six goals as the Cyclones defeated the Eagles in a nonleague game in Jordan.

Julia Lavarnway and Tatum Overton each scored three goals for the Cyclones (1-1, 0-1). Chelsea Curtis and Sophia Titus scored the only two goals for Jordan-Elbridge (1-4).

Bailey Thomas provided a goal and six assists as the Lions pulled away in the second half to beat the Lancers in a nonleague game in Dexter.

Rachel Black netted four goals for General Brown (3-2).

Charlotte Ryan was the game’s top goal-scorer with six for LaFayette (2-2).

Morgan Cox finished with three goals and an assist for Penfield in its nonleague victory over South Jefferson in Penfield.

Megan Whitley scored three goals for the Spartans (2-2, 1-0) and Paige Crandall finished with eight saves in net.


Kyler Martin of Sackets Harbor competed in the NUWAY Wrestling Championship in Michigan and finished in third place in the 192-pound weight class.
