LITTLE FALLS — Shortstop Danny DiMarzo hit a two-run home run and center fielder Emil Matti singled twice and drove in three runs to spark the Watertown Rapids to a 10-4 win over the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs on Friday night in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League game at Veterans Memorial Park.

DiMarzo connected for his first home run with the Rapids (7-3) with his blast in the top of the second inning for a 2-0 Watertown lead.

Drake Smith and Matti followed with an RBI single in the fourth inning, and Michael Rounds scored on an RBI groundout by Jonathan Catapano in the fifth to build a 5-0 lead.

Mohawk Valley drew within 5-4 with three runs in the fifth inning and one more in the sixth, but Khale Showers doubled in a run in the seventh for Watertown, which added four runs in the eighth. Evan Harold singled twice and knocked in a run for the Rapids.

Starter David Mead (2-0) pitched 5 2/3 innings to earn the win, and Marc Maestri pitched a scoreless ninth.

Watertown will host a team from the Baseball Academy of Canada in an exhibition game at 7:15 tonight at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds, with a fireworks display to follow. The Rapids will then host Amsterdam at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, and will host Albany and Adirondack on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, both 6:15 p.m. starts.
