Ogdensburg father and son land major muskie

PROVIDED PHOTORobert, left, and Brad Paradis, of Ogdensburg, feature the 51 1/2-inch muskie that they caught Wednesday on the St. Lawrence River.

Ogdensburg’s Robert and Brad Paradis will remember this Independence Day weekend for a long time.

The father and son, who participate on the Northern New York Bassmasters Tournament circuit, hauled in a massive muskie that measured 51 1/2 inches long Wednesday on the St. Lawrence River.

Robert Paradis hooked the fish by dragging a tube along the river bottom and using light spinning gear, and son Brad helped pull the fish into the boat. The muskie featured a 22-inch girth. Its estimated weight was 45 pounds. After measurements and photos, it was released back into the waters.

Nice catch and difficult to match across the nation. We do have big fish in our St Lawrence way over 26 pounds.
