Heuvelton McCormick, SLC’s Ramsdell named First Team All-State

The Heuvelton senior duo of shortstop Madison McCormick and catcher Emily Streeter were honored with first and second team selection on the New York State Sportswriters Association All-State Girls Softball Team. McCormick, who was honored as the West Division MVP of the All-Northern Conference team and the Central Division MVP in St. Lawrence Central pitcher Makian Ramsdell were the two NAC First Team selections.

McCormick batted .638 on the season with two homeruns and Ramsdell, who pitched SLC to the New York State Final Four, posted an 18-2 record with a 0.62 ERA and 271 strikeouts. She also batted .368.

OFA shortstop Celia Henry earned a sixth team spot in the Class B selections and other Class D selections were Edwards-Knox teammates in shortstop Abigail Hart (Third Team) and catcher Koryn Rowe (Fourth Team).

Ramsdell’s SLC teammate, shortstop Kelsy Waite, was named to the Third Team in her final Class C season.
